Ups And Downs And Other Stuff.....

I was about to start talking about my weekend of poker with the comment that it was a bit of a roller coaster but realistically what game of poker is not a roller
coaster?

I started the weekend at a cash game on Saturday night that did not go as planned at all. I had the second best hand all night, but thats poker and it happens.
Truthfully I was not really in the correct frame of mind to play cash but that is not an excuse. I was originally supposed to make it to a $60 tournament earlier in the
day but I was stuck waiting for a piece of poker cloth to have a logo embroidered onto it so I could finish a table for one of my customers. As a result I could not
make it to the tournament. Then I was invited to a $10 tourny but it fell through when they could not get enough people to play. I would have happily gone to this
game because it would have been with friends and I try my best not to pass that up. I love to win money but I also enjoy sitting with friends and having a few beers
while I play.

With all else unavailable I decided to head out to a 1/2 cash game. We played 5 handed for about an hour until the first player busted out and left, then 4 handed for
an hour or so before it broke up after a wild hand. I was home early which was ok.

Sunday night featured cash games at my place. I had a .25/.50 table 9 handed and then when a few more players arrived we split up and started a 1/2 table. There
was good action and my stack was up and down. After buying in for $100 I found myself up around $280 fairly quickly, then after a nasty run of cold cards I dropped
to $65. I topped up to $100 again and went on a nice run. I maxed out at about $450 before giving a little back to finally cash $389. So with a Saturday night loss of
$40, and a Sunday profit of $254 I found myself up $214 for the weekend. My stack now sits at $635 from my original $250 on January 1st. It looks like there will be
no poker this weekend but next week I am looking forward to 2 casino visits and a tournament at my place. Next Thursday I am planning a day visit to Windsor to
play cash followed by heading to point Edward in the evening for their $60 tournament. Then on Saturday it will be a nice little $20 game at my place. I am really
looking forward to that one and a chance to sit down and play with friends.

I am excited about how well my stack is growing and I look forward to getting the next game going. I know that the bigger the games get and the higher the buy-ins
the stiffer the competition will be, but I have been there before and I`m excited to get the opportunity to show what I can do in bigger games again.
